Ryan Briscoe is a current driver for Penske Racing.
Before Indycar[]
He raced in the Formula Renault series where he won the Italian Championship in 2001. He also raced a limited schedule in the Renault Eurocup in 2001. During 2002 he ran in the Formula 3000 Series. He struggled to come to grips with the racing in the series and left mid way through the year. After the F3000 Series he ran in German Formula 3 where he was a multiple time podium finisher.
In 2003 he raced in the Formula 3 Euroseries where he won the title. He won 8 races throughout the season. In 2004 he was Toyota F1 Third Driver at the Grand Prixs towards the end of the season.

For 2005 Briscoe drove for Chip Ganassi Racing. Chip Ganassi struggled through the season even with Scott Dixon and this was to be a largely dissapointing year for the team. Ryans best result was an 8th place at the Nashville oval. At the Chicagoland oval Ryan was involved in a massive crash.
